Car Insurance Geo (Car Insurance). Trying to buy my fist car & found a great deal …is this a scam?Trying to buy my fist car & found a great deal …is this a scam? Trying to buy my fist car & found a great deal … Its half the price of compared on Auto Trader E-mailed him and got this Hello, Sorry for delay but the vehicle is still for sale and the asking price is $11,950. It is located in Nova Scotia and is registered on my name and the title is clear (no lien). I'm a pilot on cargo flights, my wife broke up with me recently because I'm always away from home. We just sold our house and split the money. This is the last thing I need to sell and split the money with her. The vehicle is e-tested and certified with no damage or any accidents! Because I'm away most of the time I will not be able to deal in person, but I've already arranged the shipping and the title transfer anywhere in the Canada. I will pay the shipping fees. If you are still interested please email me back so I can explain how we can do this without me being present. Thank you, Is this common? Or am I about to get Scammed? If so …. what could go wrong? Please help me out I am very new to this…. Thank you All so much To dispel the BS about "don't deal unless it's face to face". I have bought and sold many vehicles without ever seeing the seller/buyer in person. Sometimes a particular car is not available in the local area so the range of then search goes nationwide. The problem comes in when someone has a "sob story" about a divorce, son died, went in the service, cat died etc. and the car is not where they are and it is 'packed for immediate shipment. They also offer the return of your money if you don't like it after it is "shipped to you". ALL the web sites warn of the SCAM's that offer "free shipping offers are 100% fraudulent". This one is a definite SCAM. Scam. If he isn't going to deal in person that's a HUGE red flag! Of course it's common. It's the most common scam on the internet dealing with cars. If I wasn't afraid of going to hell, I would be pulling this crap all of the time. I can't believe people still fall for it. dont do it, its a scam You basic BS scam. Seen 1,000,000,000,000 of these (I am an IT Specialist) basically the same with different locations and players. NEVER BUY A VEHICLE WITHOUT BEING FACE TO FACE! So a couple months ago I brought my 2005 Ford Taurus in to the garage to get it checked out when the check engine light came on. I was told the engine was running lean, and I think they unclogged the fuel injectors but I forget exactly what they did. All winter my engine was freaking out when i started it up, like full on vibrating and shaking the whole car- i thought this was just because of the extreme cold. They said the codes for the engine light came on when the car was stationary and the temperature was zero degrees- I don't know if that has anything to do with anything. Jump to the end of march. Out of curiosity, I checked through my message center in the dash, and it told me the AVG MPG was 14.6 ... I didn't feel like this is normal, the only people I know who have a vehicle that gets anything under 15 MPG drive huge trucks, not mid-size sedans! My MPG is now reading as 14.9 and goes between that and 14.8 . I put Lucas Fuel Injector treatment in the tank last week when I filled her up, but it hasn't made any difference. I filled the car 4 days ago, drove less than 100 miles, and now I'm below half a tank. Also, when I touch the accelerator, the engine roars and gets really fast really quickly- I do enjoy getting from 0-60 in under 5 seconds but that's not really normal for a taurus and could get me into trouble with the law! When I am going 40+ M/Hr the engine makes a weird whirring noise, too- not sure what that could be. So basically I just want to know if anyone else has had this problem (especially Taurus owners!) and what I can do about it. I want my baby to run better, gas is too expensive for this college kid! My entire paycheck fills my tank and the only reason i have to fill it is to get to my work- it's a never ending cycle! What can I do? Can you fix engine lean? car insurance. Geo . How to Remove House Paint From the Body of My CarWhen you are painting your house and you spill paint on your car, it can be a frustrating experience to remove it. The correct way to remove the paint is to use car polish cutting cream and a detailing clay bar. These are special detailing products that are available at any auto parts store. You should try to remove the paint as quickly as you can once you notice it on your car. Difficulty:Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need Detailing clay Orbital buffer Polish cutting cream Soap and water Sponge Lint-free towel Step by Step : 1 Apply a small amount of cutting cream to the buffer and work the cream into the area with the house paint. The polish should remove most of the paint on the surface of the clear coat. 2 Wash the area clean with soap and water and then dry it with a clean, lint-free towel. 3 Spray the area you are working on with detailing clay lubricant and rub the detailing clay into the clear coat if there is any remaining house paint. The detailing clay bar is a hard, clay bar that will pick up any contaminates that are embedded into the clear coat. You will notice a frictionless surface when you start rubbing the clay bar. This will change as you continue to work the clay bar into the car's paint. It will become harder to rub the bar across the paint for a moment. At this point, the bar is lifting up the embedded house paint form the clear coat. Continue rubbing the clay bar into the clear coat until there is no more house paint left.
Geo . Removing Vinyl Car Interior PaintIt's not uncommon for vinyl trim in automobiles to get painted at some point during ownership. Often, owners want to change the color of their interior trim and end up using a vinyl spray paint on it. Or maybe it was just looking faded, so it was restored with paint. Whatever the reason it was painted, you may at some point want to remove the vinyl spray paint to repaint the vinyl or just restore its original look. Removing vinyl paint is not that different than other paint stripping, but you do have to be careful. What You Will Need Paint stripper should remove most paint from car interior vinyl. You will need a brush to apply the stripper, a rag to wipe off the paint and a toothbrush to scrub difficult areas. You also need a mild cleaner to prep the vinyl and clean it after the stripping is done. Clean and Apply the Paint Stripper Use a mild cleaner and a clean rag to wash the vinyl of any dirt, oils or grease. Apply a small amount of paint thinner onto the painted surface with a soft-bristled brush or even a rag. Wipe off the Paint Stripper Let the thinner sit on the paint until you see the paint begin to lift and bubble a little. Wipe the paint off with a clean rag when it has started to bubble and lift. Repeat this process until you have removed all of the paint. For tougher spots, use a hard-bristle toothbrush and scrub the paint gently with the brush. The point is to remove the paint without scratching the surface. Once the paint is removed, clean it again with the mild cleaner and dry it thoroughly with a clean, dry rag. Warning Read the warning label on the paint stripper to make sure it is safe for vinyl and wear a respirator. Test an inconspicuous area with the stripper to make sure it does not damage the vinyl. Do not leave the stripper on for an extended period as this may damage the vinyl. *torsion bars, and air Air spring Torsion bar springs. Leaf springs are usually made up of several relatively thin metal plates, called leaves, piled one on top of the other. The reason for using these layers instead of one thick metal bar is that, as a bar bends, the top of the bar has to stretch a little. Unlike a single, thick bar, which, if bent too far, would split from the top down, leaf springs are more flexible — each leaf bends independently, and the leaves can slide on one another instead of breaking (see Figure 11-8). Each end of a set of leaf springs is attached to the frame at the rear of the car with fittings that allow the springs to bend and move freely. These fittings usually have rubber bushings that allow the fittings to bend and twist freely; they also absorb some of the vibration and pre vent it from reaching the passenger compartment. See Chapter 16 for details on leaf springs and how to care for them. 464

GMC Envoy. * another. u0 Coil springs look like old-fashioned bed springs. They're usually found at the front of the car, although they can be at both the front and the rear. Coil springs are typically used with strut-type suspensions, too. Figure 11-7 shows one type of coil spring; Figure 16-7 shows front and rear springs. You can find instructions for lubricating them in Chapter 16. At the front end, coil springs help cushion the bumps, vibrations, and steering movements. At the rear, they're suspended between control arms that have rubber bushings. v0 Torsion bars (refer to Figures 11-7 and 16-9) are used mainly in sport-utility vehicles and pre-1980 Chrysler products. They are located at the front of the vehicle, connected to the lower control arms. They twist to accommodate differences in the load that the car may be carrying, allowing the front wheels to move up and down freely. Think of torsion bars as coil springs that didn't get wound into a spiral. W Air springs are usually found on luxury vehicles. A rubber air spring can be filled with the right amount of compressed air to control the ride and maintain the proper height. With this type of system, a computer monitors the ride height and signals an onboard air compressor to pump more air into the air springs whenever weight is added to the vehicle. When the weight is removed, the computer turns on an exhaust solenoid to let air out of the air springs (refer to Figures 11-7 and 16-10). Usually, there's nothing to lubricate with air springs. But check with the dealer to find out whether it's okay to apply a rubber conditioner to the air bags to prevent them from wearing out prematurely. .Chapter 11: Steering and Suspension Systems Smooth the Way Shocks and struts Shock absorbers (see Figure 11-9) and MacPherson struts (see Figure 11-10) do most of the work of protecting the passenger compartment from bumps. One or the other is located near each wheel. The way they cut down on vertical movement is interesting. When a wheel hits a bump, it tends to keep bouncing up and down long after the bump has been left behind unless the movement is controlled. The bouncing effect is due to the inflated rubber tire on the wheel, and also to the fact that a coil spring that is either pulled or compressed doesn't just snap back into its former shape but keeps moving up and down for some time afterward. Shock absorbers and struts allow the springs to compress freely and to return or rebound slowly — like the door check on a storm door that opens quickly and easily but closes gently. Geo .
